The challenge

Pepper Money operated a separate customer portal for each loan type -meaning a customer with a mortgage, car loan, and personal loan had to navigate three different platforms, each with its own login and user interface. As well as creating a fragmented and frustrating customer experience, the siloed architecture made it difficult to scale and integrate with the growing number of back-end systems the business relied on. To remain competitive, Pepper Money needed to unify these platforms into a single, best-in-class portal, with a secure, high-performance integration layer capable of connecting seamlessly across all underlying systems via AWS Transit Gateway.

The solution

Working with PhoenixDX, Pepper Money built the My Pepper Money Universal Customer Portal (UCP) in under 4 months - a sleek, intuitive platform that gives customers a single login to self-manage all their loans and personal details, reducing inbound calls while driving cross-sell, acquisition, and retention.

To connect the portal securely across 11 back-end systems without the complexity and overhead of individual VPNs, the team implemented AWS Transit Gateway. The native integration between OutSystems and AWS made this straightforward, delivering fast, secure, and reliable data exchange across the entire platform from day one.
